ABSTRACT

The process of evaluating the efficiency of economic performance is an important priority that must be followed up in varying periods of time in order to detect the obstacles facing economic institutions and try to develop solutions to them in a timely manner, for the purpose of achieving the goals set correctly.

The research aims to assess the efficiency of economic performance of Hemin Sponge Industry using a number of criteria to determine the reality of production and productivity and to identify the production capacities and the percentage of utilization from them, as well as to identify the total and net added value achieved during the period (2018-2020) under study.

Through the application of criteria (productive capacity, productivity, added value), the research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: the presence of idle and untapped energies in an optimal manner, and as for the partial productivity, it fluctuated during the study period between high and low, due to the failure to employ modern technologies to improve production methods. As for the overall productivity, it was low due to the high salaries and wages and the high prices of raw materials, and the company was not able to achieve added values during the study period as the added value was negative, and the failure to achieve an efficient level in the production process and did not achieve a return that benefits the community, due to market conditions in terms of Demand and competition for imported goods.
