The Role of Soft Skills in Enhancing Psychological Capital an Exploratory Study in the Office of the Ministry of Oil

Abstract

The research examines the effect of soft skills as an independent variable and psychological capital as a dependent variable. The current research variables are relatively new in the administrative conception. The research has a set of objectives including the identification of hypotheses. To achieve these hypotheses, a questionnaire has been applied on a sample of eighty-seven assistants and heads of department at the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. Some statistical procedures have been used including: Arithmetic mean, percentage, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, and t, f tests using (spss). The most significant conclusions are: the soft skills effect on psychological capital.  The most important recommendation is that the  communication processes between employees in the ministry should be reinforced.
