Abstract
The Iraqi economy is one of the economies that are characterized as being rich in natural resources, especially oil. However, the reality of economic growth and development does not reflect this abundance of resources due to the succession of political and economic events for decades, as the outbreak of successive wars affected the rates of economic growth and the financial resources allocated. This made the Iraqi economy characterized by rentierism and this lack of diversification. In addition to the fact that the economic policies adopted and applied in the country were characterized by volatility according to the different political events and their impact on the development process, this research focuses on the fiscal and monetary policy and their relationship to economic growth in Iraq during the period 1990-2016.
