Evaluation of Commercial Banks According to the CAMELS Model in a Comparative Manner. Applied Research on a Sample of Private Commercial Banks.

Abstract
Discussed in this research subject (commercial banks evaluated in accordance with the CAMELS model and in a manner comparable (, applied study in three Iraqi banks, namely, (Al-Ahli and the Middle East and Baghdad) and the Bank of Emirates and one which (Abu Dhabi Commercial), for a period of between (2012-2016), The problem with the research and the extent of the commitment of those banks with international standards, while representing the main objective is to have a comparative evaluation in order to determine the safety and health of those banks, and the statement of its strengths and weaknesses, and to highlight the role and importance of the model CAMELS, in the comprehensive assessment process, The research found that the CAMELS evaluation model is a comprehensive model, which assesses the banks in all aspects, especially financial and administrative, and found that the banks sample of the research classified in the second classification according to the model, a satisfactory classification. Banks that fall within this classification are basically sound but suffer Of some limited weaknesses, The most important of these was the decline in banking revenues and asset quality. Local banks were characterized by a high percentage of capital adequacy and cash liquidity, unlike the comparative bank, characterized by low liquidity and liquidity ratios. Can be converted into cash, As well as that these assets yield satisfactory returns, characterized by high quality management and profitability indicators have; because of the high rates of employment and increase the ability to reduce the total expenses, compared to local banks sample research, and the research showed that the Bank is less sensitive to adverse changes in interest rates , Compared with local banks sample research.
